Lacy Nichols, BSN, RN, Blessed Beginnings, the birth center of Blessing Hospital, has earned the status of Neonatal Touch and Massage Certified (NTMC) nurse. She is one of 1,400 professionals who provide care to newborn children worldwide to hold this certification. NTMC maximizes the long-term developmental outcomes of infants who are born ill or premature through enhanced skill development in handling, positioning, skin-to-skin contact, massage swaddled bathing and other advanced practice techniques. NTMC nurses also ensure parent involvement and bonding.
Nichols is a 13-year member of the Blessed Beginnings staff. She is also a Low Risk Neonatal Intensive Care Certified nurse, the hospital’s neonatal resuscitation program coordinator and instructor and a volunteer photographer for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization, which provides grief support to parents who experience a stillbirth or death of a newborn child.
Nichols earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences and an Associate Degree in Nursing from John Wood Community College. She is currently studying for a Master of Science in Nursing degree to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
