Pam Simmons, CNA, Intensive Care Unit, received Blessing Hospital’s 39th Honey Bee award during a presentation on January 20, 2022. The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the service provided by support staff.
Pam, a 32-year member of the Blessing staff, was nominated by the wife of a man who was hospitalized for 20 days before his passing. The nomination read:
“Pam was there every morning when I arrived to stay with my husband. I was always greeted with a warm smile and hug.
She was always so gentle caring for him. Pam asked questions about him and our family. Soon we were visiting like friends. This meant a lot because of restrictions due to COVID and not having support of friends.
She never left my husband’s room without say, “Is there anything else I can do for you?” Her caring was and is a great comfort.
Our friendship has continued after my husband’s passing. Pam has called and offered her sympathy and support as well as prayers,” the nomination concluded.
Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units and other locations throughout Blessing Hospital.
