Kylie Miller, CNA, general medicine/Observation Decision Unit, became Blessing Hospital’s 52nd Honey Bee award winner during a presentation on January 24, 2023. The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the exceptional service provided by support staff.
Kylie was nominated by a patient to whom she provided care. The nomination read, in part: “I was exhausted, in tons of pain, and not feeling like myself. Each and every time Kylie checked on me she made an effort to talk to me like I was a human being. She asked me questions, kept me alert, and always included me in conversation. She told me my vitals each time and retook them if anything looked off, responded immediately if I needed anything or hit the call light, listened to my concerns and advocated for me.
“During the night I got nauseous and sick. I made it a point to go find Kylie because I felt most comfortable with her. She rubbed my back, got ice for me and anything else I needed. Kylie was incredibly kind to me. I was in a weak moment and the compassion she showed me made my heart happy.”
“Kylie is a gem. Upon discharge she walked me to the door, made sure I got my medications and anything else I needed before parting ways. I will always remember her. CNAs are such angels who are often under recognized.”
