About Me

Dr. Volz dreamed of being a pediatrician. Fate led him in a different direction.

“I spent many volunteer hours in the emergency room/trauma center when I was volunteering as a college student. In medical school, after spending my first few days on my surgical rotation I realized I had to be in the operating room.”

Dr. Volz is skilled in robotic surgery, “I was a very early adopter of this amazing technology. The robot allows me to perform complicated intra-abdominal surgery through small incisions allowing for rapid discharge from the hospital with minimal pain, quick recovery and return to normal activity.”

Dr. Volz earned his medical degree as a member of the United States Air Force.

“When the opportunity to attend medical school on an Air Force Scholarship arose for me, it was a great opportunity to serve my country and earn my medical degree at the same time.”

He served as an active duty general surgeon ultimately earning the rank of Major.

“Being a veteran has allowed me to understand and connect with fellow veterans. Many veterans find peace in knowing I served as well.”
