Kaleigh Roberts, CT Technologist

Kaleigh Roberts, CT technologist, joined Blessing Hospital in May 2024. Nine months later, February 3, 2025, she earned an ICARE Award for Compassion.

Kaleigh was nominated by coworker Amber Bricker for her exceptional work with a patient who had not been out of their house in years due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and agoraphobia - a type of anxiety disorder involving fear and avoidance of places or situations that might cause panic and feelings of being trapped, helpless or embarrassed. The patient eventually had to come to the hospital for treatment of a long-standing medical issue.

The nomination read as follows: β€œThe patient and his wife sat in the Emergency Center parking lot for hours before he could even come in. Kaleigh and I walked over to bring the patient to CT,
allowing his wife to come to decrease anxiety.

Kaleigh took the time to explain every step of the scan to him and any possible side effects of using contrast before he would even sit on the table. She was able to gain his trust, and he allowed her to proceed with the scan. During the scan, she used the microphone and told him step-by-step what was going to happen.

After the scan was complete, Kaleigh went in and asked how he felt and again explained timing and sending the scan to be read. She answered any other questions he and his wife had.

He and his wife were truly appreciative of the extra care Kaleigh gave to him.”

Blessing Health employees nominate their peers for an ICARE award based on their demonstration of any one – or all – of the Blessing Values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
