Ellie Hull and Macey McEuen, registered radiologic technologists specializing in computed tomography (CT) at Illini Community Hospital, have earned national certification in CT imaging from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
CT is an X-ray procedure that produces cross-sectional images, or “slices” of the body’s internal structures. These slices provide more detailed information than conventional X-rays. Once a number of successive slices are collected by the machine’s computer, they can be digitally stacked together to form a three-dimensional image of the patient that allows for easier identification of basic structures as well as possible tumors or abnormalities.
To earn certification, Hull and McEuen had to meet requirements for the number of hours of education in the field completed and number of CT procedures performed.
Both women are graduates of John Wood Community College and the Blessing Hospital School of Radiologic Technology.
Hull is a Barry resident and a graduate of Western High School.
McEuen is a Pittsfield resident and a graduate of Griggsville-Perry High School.
