When two computer programs were not communicating with each other as they should, Pam Booth became involved with lightning speed, fixed the issue and earned an ICARE Excellence Award for her expertise. She is a systems/application analyst II in Information Systems.

Because of the computer issue, appointments for some Quincy family medicine patients were unable to be viewed by the clinical team and those patients were also unable to get medication refills. That led Laura Dorian, clinical manager, to submit a ticket to Information Systems. The nomination read, in part:

“I submitted a ticket at the end of the day. Before 8 o’clock the next morning, Pam reached out, asking to discuss it. She worked tirelessly throughout the day and, by 8 o’clock that night, not only had she identified the root cause but manually corrected all affected appointments."

Pam discovered that the appointments in question were booked incorrectly. So additionally, she worked to help make one-on-one training available to prevent this issue from recurring.

Not only did Pam handle this situation quickly, she went outside her comfort zone to understand the scheduling system and get the problem fixed fast for the providers, staff and ultimately the patients.”

Blessing Health System employees nominate coworkers for ICARE Awards based on the nominee’s demonstration of one of the organization’s values - integrity, compassion, accountability, respect or excellence (ICARE) – or all five of the values.
