For her relationships with coworkers and patients, Christina Remmert, DO, Blessing Health Hannibal internal medicine, received an ICARE Award for Compassion on September 15.
“She loves what she does and it shows. Her dedication, empathy, and professionalism make her not only an outstanding provider but also an inspiration to all of us,” the nomination of Dr. Remmert said, submitted by a co-worker who became a patient.
“After struggling for years to find the right one (primary care physician) I finally feel heard, supported and accepted instead of being judged. Dr. Remmert listens. She views the patient as a whole, a sum of their parts rather than simply addressing the specific issue presented to her and sending the patient on their way. She is genuinely interested in getting to know people, to understand all facets of who they are, and reading between the lines to find the best course of action.
She is now my husband’s doctor as well. Dr. Remmert is the provider we recommend to everyone we know.”
Blessing Health System employees nominate coworkers for an ICARE award based on the nominee’s demonstration of one of the organization’s values - integrity, compassion, accountability, respect or excellence (ICARE) – or of all five values.
