For those who cross her path, Nancy Swartz is more than a nurse. She is a steady source of kindness, reassurance, and heartfelt support. Patients describe her as warm, attentive, and profoundly caring, attributes that led this family medicine department LPN to become the 88th recipient of Blessing’s Honey Bee Award. The award recognizes service provided by support staff that contributes to an exceptional patient experience and enhances the work environment.
“Nancy serves as a clinic LPN in Becky Reed’s office and is, without question, one of the most exceptional nurses I’ve had the privilege to receive care from,” read her nomination form. ”Nancy consistently demonstrates the qualities that define outstanding nursing: clinical excellence, compassionate communication, and unwavering dedication to her patients.”
The nomination also praises Nancy’s ability to “truly listen” as a trait that sets her apart. Whether she’s answering a phone call or caring for a patient, she does so with “grace and genuine attentiveness,” ensuring concerns are fully understood and addressed.
Nancy was also recognized for her diligence in multiple areas. From collaborating with other colleagues to providing timely and thoughtful care, Nancy’s follow-through is described as “impeccable,” never missing a detail along the way.
More than her skills as a caregiver, Nancy’s warm demeanor is a hallmark of her care for patients.
“What truly sets Nancy apart is her ability to make patients feel seen, heard, and cared for,” the nomination shares. “She is approachable, kind, and brings a gentle humor that eases anxiety and fosters trust.
