The Blessing Hospital parking lot on the northeast corner of 11th and Broadway will temporarily close to traffic beginning at 11 pm Friday, September 11 and remained closed for about two weeks. The parking lot is across 11th Street from the helicopter hangar and used most often by patients of the Blessing Walk-In Clinic.

During the parking lot closure, the Blessing Walk-In Clinic will remain open. Patients should use the Emergency Center parking lot and enter the building in the usual location, under the blue Walk-In Clinic awning.

Walk-In Clinic patients can use the Emergency Center parking lot entrance off of Broadway, or off of 11th Street. 11th Street will remain open from Broadway to the Emergency Center parking lot entrance, only closing temporarily if a patient needs to be transported to or from the helicopter.

The parking lot at 11th and Broadway is temporarily closing to be used as a take-off and landing site for the Air Evac helicopter and other medical helicopter services that transport patients to and from Blessing Hospital. During this time the Air Evac hangar, across the street from the parking lot, will get a new roof and air handler.

Blessing examined a number of options for helicopter use during the project. Due to the needs of critically ill patients who require helicopter transportation, direct access to the Blessing Hospital Emergency Center is essential, making the 11th and Broadway parking lot the best and only option to efficiently and effectively meet patient care needs.

The parking lot at 11th and Broadway is expected to reopen at 6 am, Monday, September 28.
