About Me
Dr. Kataria’s grandfather was a role model.
“He believed in the power of education,” the doctor said.
The death of his grandfather due to a stroke fueled his mission to become a doctor. While Dr. Kataria already had a deep interest in science and math, he would go on to volunteer at hospitals in his New Jersey hometown during high school and later work as a volunteer emergency medical technician.
His formal education included earning two bachelor’s and a master’s degree in addition to his Doctor of Medicine degree specializing in internal medicine.
“It was between surgery and internal medicine,” Dr. Kataria said of his decision on a medical specialty. “I liked the breadth of experience that internal medicine offered, how you get to see so many different cases, are the master diagnostician and lead the patient’s care. I like how mentally stimulating and challenging it is.”
During his residency, Dr. Kataria developed a significant passion for teaching residents and medical students. His grandfather would have been proud.
The doctor’s patients find him to be an exceptional listener.
“I want to hear everything before I interject my feedback and opinion.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kataria is an accomplished dancer and soccer player.
