About Me

In addition to complex neurosurgical procedures, Dr. Brian Anderson specializes in hope.

“Many of my patients have very little hope. When I tell them I have something that gives them hope, they cry. They expected me to tell them nothing could be done because that is all they have ever heard.”

Hope grows from the neuromodulation devices that Dr. Anderson implants in certain cases, tiny computers that transform the central nervous system. They are nerve stimulators to assist in managing conditions ranging from pain to epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease.

“I have seen spinal cord injury patients move fingers that they hadn’t been able to move. It’s about as close to miraculous as anything in medicine is,” he said.

Dr. Anderson’s training includes two fellowships – one in functional neurosurgery, the other in minimally invasive spine techniques.

“I prefer the least invasive intervention that gets the job done.”

And he enjoys getting to know his patients and their stories.

“The patient is more than just a surgery, they are a partner in the process. Recognizing the fundamentals of human decency is the most important thing. Do that when you practice medicine and you will be successful and your patients will have good care.”
