About Me

It had always been my dream to train in central Illinois to become a family physician, knowing that I wished to return to the area in which I was raised to practice medicine. Family medicine appeals to me because I enjoy many facets of medical care from infant and child care to adult medicine and geriatrics. Since 2005, I have developed an interest in the management of chronic wounds and also treat patients in the Blessing Wound and Hyperbaric Center. Seeing a patient who once had a debilitating wound become whole once again is a terrific experience.

I enjoy my profession because I have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. I believe that an understanding of family dynamics and how they affect patients is crucial to good medical care. Patient education is also paramount. I take the time necessary to learn patients’ concerns and to explain things that might be difficult to understand. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is when I am able to form a true partnership with my patients and their families.
