About Me
Born in Alton, IL, and raised in Calhoun County, Dr. Lammy enjoys small town life and medicine.
“I’ve always been fascinated with the human body and how everything works together in perfect harmony.”
His choice of medical specialty fits his upbringing.
“I think part of it was growing up in a small town,” Dr. Lammy said of choosing family medicine. “I am used to knowing everybody and their families. Relationships. I am drawn to that kind of environment.”
“I like family medicine because you take care of people from the time they’re born until the time they pass away. You build relationships over a long period of time.”
If you’re a native of this area and love football, you may have heard of Dakota Lammy. He was a varsity running back and linebacker all four years at Calhoun High School in Hardin and a running back as an undergraduate at Illinois College. And for Dr. Lammy, it’s all about the relationships.
“I made a lot of friends that I still have to this day. I am very thankful for the opportunity to play.”
And Dr. Lammy is thankful for the opportunity to treat patients at Illini Rural Health Clinic.
“Life is hard. Anything I can do to make someone’s life a little bit better, I consider that a success.”
