About Me

Growing up in the area, I spent most of my youth outdoors - hunting, fishing and climbing trees. My interest in nature and subsequently biology led me to medicine, which allows me to continually learn about how things work while also making a difference in the health of people in the region I consider home. I can’t imagine a better combination.

I pursued the specialty of gastroenterology/hepatology because of the variety it allows in my day to day practice. I see patients across all settings from healthy people who need colon cancer screenings to critically ill patients in the hospital. One of the most important aspects of my practice is screening for colon cancer. I believe we have the opportunity to impact the long term health of many patients by preventing colon cancer or diagnosing it in its early stages.

Whether in the office, prior to a procedure or in the hospital, I enjoy seeing patients and I cannot image having any other job which I would enjoy more.
