About Me
Erin Bowers learned how to be a nurse by working for more than 20 years in emergency medicine.
“I value my nursing background so much. I learned a lot in those years in the emergency room and I enjoy working with a collaborative team to make sure patients are able to get the care they need.”
In her role on the outpatient gastrointestinal team, Erin will use the same techniques to connect with her patients that made her a successful emergency medicine nurse.
“I connect with my patients by listening. I spend time getting their story so that I can connect the dots and help them find solutions to their problems, or at least make sure they feel heard and address their concerns to the best of my ability.”
While Erin was the first in her family to go into medicine, she knew since high school she wanted to be a nurse and that fire continues to burn brightly.
“I have occasionally thought about what I would do if I were not in medicine, but honestly there is nothing else I would rather do!”
