About Me

Dr. Maggie Lamborn has something to say to the parents/guardians of her young patients, “Thank you.”

“It’s really difficult to see your child suffering. A lot of the kids I see are suffering in some way or another that motivates the adults in their lives to bring them to see me. I appreciate the trust,” she said.

As a medical student at the University of Kansas, Dr. Lamborn had an open mind about the type of medicine she would practice until her third year clinicals.

“Psychiatry just grabbed me. I was able to do half of my psychiatric rotation on a child and adolescent inpatient unit and I loved it. I love the patients and the work. It’s very satisfying for me.”

Dr. Lamborn finds life outside of her practice satisfying, too. She’s a life-long learner who loves reading; she exercises including weight-lifting for strength training and loves her three dogs – a Great Pryenees Mix, a Dachshund and a Dachshund Chihuahua Mix, also known as a Chiweenie.

Knowing who Dr. Lamborn considers as her role model also speaks volumes about her personality and character.

“My grandmother was always a role model. She raised my mom and uncle by herself while going back to school. She earned her doctorate in biochemistry and was a professor emeritus when she passed. She was strong, driven and smart. All of those things that I really look up to."
