About Me

Following in the footsteps of her mother, a nurse, Dr. Bowen always wanted a career in healthcare.  She began her journey working as a certified nurse assistant at the age of 14.

When it was time to go to college, Dr. Bowen knew she was not fully prepared to succeed in medical school.  Instead she went to school to become a radiologic technologist and enjoyed a successful 12-year career.

At the age of 33 - with two children at home and one about to be born – Misty Bowen still had the drive to become a doctor and began medical school.

“Quit is not in me,” she said. “That is just not a thing.”

Today she proudly serves her patients as a board-certified family medicine provider.

Dr. Bowen bases her relationship with patients on the philosophy of world-famous physician Patch Adams, who is credited with saying, “You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you'll win, no matter what the outcome.”

When she is not treating her patients, Dr. Bowen enjoys gardening, raising chickens and fishing to provide fresh food for her family, live a sustainable lifestyle and to enjoy the outdoors.
