About Me

Dr. Banerjee is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has over a decade of experience in both academic and community practices.

In addition to his internal medicine background, Dr. Banerjee completed fellowships in general and interventional gastroenterology, allowing him to bring a wide variety of clinical and endoscopic skills into his practice.

He prides himself on being flexible and views each patient's story through their unique set of circumstances. Dr. Banerjee presents patients not only with his best idea for their treatment plan, but other options they could consider.

“Patients like that approach. I think when you make medicine a conversation, the patient develops rapport with and a sense of trust in their doctor.”

“In medicine, we work one-on-one with the patient to develop solutions to problems and optimize their quality of life. The key element is humanism in medicine.”

As a result of his advanced fellowship, Dr. Banerjee provides advanced endoscopic services such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasound to manage diseases of the biliary tract and pancreas. He provides endoscopic eradication of precancerous conditions of the esophagus (Barrett’s Esophagus). Dr. Banerjee has also developed a hemorrhoidal banding practice to better serve patients with symptomatic internal hemorrhoids that have failed conservative therapy, and has a passion for colon cancer screening/surveillance.
