About Me

Soul-crushing grief placed young Pervez Alvi on a path that would lead to his life’s work.

“My father had a heart problem and died at a very young age. That left all of us in shock. I decided I should become a doctor to help people like my father.”
And following the example of a role model, a medical school professor, Dr. Alvi fully realized the dream that would have made his father proud.

“I had the opportunity to work with the professor for a few months after graduation and observe how he interacted with patients and conducted his practice. That really helped me.”
When patients meet Dr. Alvi for the first time, his goal is to put them at ease.

“I want people to feel comfortable talking to me. “

When not in the exam room with a patient, you most likely will find Dr. Alvi pursuing his other passion, reading.  He is also the proud father of four grown children – all of who are either working in the medical field or studying to enter the profession – including a son who is a head and neck surgeon and a daughter who is a resident in psychiatry.

“We did not push them to go to medical school,” he said. Dr. Alvi’s wife is a pharmacist. “We encouraged them to do whatever they wanted to do. They liked what they saw in their parents.”
