About Me
Dr. Fridline considered engineering as a career. But instead of applying scientific principles to design and build systems and structures to solve problems, he dedicated his life to medicine.
“Engineering doesn’t allow enough human interaction for me. It is something I really like to have.”
He chose emergency medicine as his specialty because of its fast pace and intense focus on the patient. While minutes count, the minutes Dr. Fridline invests listening to his patients are important.
“They want to be heard. That is often how I pick up on things. Patients can tell you what is really going on with them. I am always there to listen.”
A Flint, Michigan native, Dr. Fridline considers one of his hunting buddies as his role model.
“I have always been close to my dad. We went bird hunting together all the time and I’ve always been able to go to him for advice.”
When not in the Emergency Center, you will probably find Dr. Fridline at the stove.
“When I go deer hunting with dad, my uncles, and cousins – about 20 guys – I plan and cook all the meals. I also enjoy cooking with my wife. It’s fun.”
