About Me

The practice of pulmonary medicine involves knowledge of not only the lungs, but of several organ systems of the body. When I meet a patient in the office, I ask questions and carefully listen as the patient explains what brought them to my office. The conversation often reveals as much about their situation as a physical examination.

Part of my job involves helping patients and their loved ones, make important, difficult and often times painful decisions especially about end of life care issues. I have always found that the best way to do this is to look them in the eye and tell them the bare truth in a gentle and a professional manner rather than do the ‘sugarcoating’ because I know people appreciate knowing the truth even when the news is bad.

I especially enjoy treating asthmatics, particularly younger patients. Often they come to me with a chronic cough or have had difficulty breathing for many months or years. It is great when they come back and are feeling so much better and are able to enjoy life. It is rewarding when I can be of help to these patients.
