Tammie Davis, Unit Secretary, 2 North, became the 14th Blessing Hospital support staff member to receive the Honey Bee Award during a surprise presentation on Tuesday, July 16.
Tammie was nominated by a coworker who stated, “She speaks with family members when they have concerns about how they can obtain their loved one’s medical records after discharge, She sends out text message via Voalte to let us all know when there are discharges. It is a quick and easy reminder to us that a discharge is being entered. She notices when POLST forms are not signed by physicians and catches consults that were missed and not called. I feel should could be a compliance team member with her keen eye and sharp skills.”
Honey Bee honorees personify Blessing Hospital’s remarkable patient experience. The Honey Bee Award complements the DAISY Award. While the DAISY Award is for RNs, the Honey Bee Award is for support staff because, “you can’t have daisies without outstanding honey bees.”
Each Honey Bee Award honoree is recognized during a presentation. They receive a certificate, a tray of sticky buns, cookies and a jar of local honey. The local honey signifies the role support staff plays in extraordinary patient care and customer service; they are the “sticky” honey that binds us together.
