Two Blessing Hospital nurses co-authored an article that has been featured in the online publication, Nursing Management.
Eydie Tipton, MSN, RN, CCRN-K, CNML, nurse researcher, Nursing Administration (pictured above left), and Kellea Hendrian, RN, BSN, CCM, nursing outcome coordinator, Nursing Administration (pictured above right), wrote “Decreasing Hospital Falls with Injury Utilizing Shared Governance and Multidisciplinary Empowerment” about the process Blessing Hospital used to realize a 36 percent reduction in patient falls.
Tipton is a 10-year member of the Blessing nursing staff who served in a variety of positions including House Supervisor and Associate Nurse Manager of the Cardiovascular Unit before joining Nursing Administration. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through Quincy University and Blessing-Rieman. Tipton is a member of the American Organization of Nursing Leadership, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, ANA-Illinois and the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing.
Hendrian is an 11-year member of the Blessing nursing staff who served on the hospital’s oncology unit and as an outpatient care coordinator before joining Nursing Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman College of
Nursing and Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Hendrian is a member Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing.
