For the safety and convenience of their patients, Blessing Physician Services (BPS), Hannibal Clinic and Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL, are offering telehealth visits for those with appropriate conditions.

Telehealth visits are doctor-patient interactions that occur via internet-based technologies like online video visits and email, and telephone. Telehealth visits offer patients an alternative way to communicate with their doctors regarding health issues that do not require face-to-face contact. During a time of social distancing, these visits can provide timely access to care and allow patients to communicate with their doctor from home.

BPS and Hannibal Clinic patients may be identified by the provider as a telehealth candidate, or the staff may call and offer it during the patient’s screening. Patients can also request a video or telehealth visit via the patient portal or by calling the provider office.

For the best visit results, patients may be asked to take their own temperature, blood pressure and weight.

Illini Community Hospital patients in the Pittsfield area should call 217-285-9447, to determine if their healthcare need can be met as a virtual visit.

“We know that virtual office visits are part of the future of the provider-patient relationship, based on convenience,” said Maureen Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, President/Chief Executive Officer, Blessing Health System. “We are seeing now another benefit of virtual visits, of receiving needed health care while reducing the risk of spreading or contracting illness.”
