While COVID-19 can infect anyone, people with weakened immune systems are at a high risk to contract the virus. For that reason, Blessing Health System offers new options for patients with weakened immune systems to get regular lab work they may need.

In addition to the option of visiting the Blessing Diagnostic Center, the patient and their provider may choose from one of the following options to reduce the patient’s exposure to other patients:

  • Home visit by a Blessing laboratory phlebotomist to perform the needed lab draw
  • Lab draw in the provider’s office
  • Appointments for car-side lab draw

For car-side lab draws, two reserved parking spots are marked in front of the Blessing Health Center West entrance to the Blessing Diagnostic Center for patients using this option. Patients need to call and pre-register for a car-side lab draw at 217-214-5855 at least 24 hours before coming for lab work. Then, once the patient pulls into a reserved parking space, they must call the phone number on the reserved parking sign to alert Blessing Diagnostic Center staff of their arrival.

Patients who have weakened immune systems and have questions about their laboratory options should call their Blessing Physician Services provider’s office.
