Aaron White has been chosen as Blessing Hospital’s Chaplain of the Month for January 2017 by the Blessing Hospital Chaplaincy Program Executive Committee.
White is new to the Quincy area, serving as Pastoral Assistant at Faith Presbyterian Church in Quincy since April, and volunteering through the Chaplaincy Program even more recently. White was selected as Chaplain of the Month for his exceptional duty on his first overnight shift that involved multiple instances of his service in moments of crisis.
Aaron grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Ohio Seminary in Athens, Ohio, before graduating from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. From there, he began at Faith Presbyterian, where he focuses on family ministries, but is also called to engage young professionals, singles and college students.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Aaron is also a New Testament scholar and a doctoral candidate with the University of Bristol, Trinity College. His focus is the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament. He has also published writings on other New Testament topics outside his concentration.
In addition to his work with the Chaplaincy Program, White serves on the steering committee for Septuagint Studies at the Evangelical Theological Society and on the committee for the Tyndale House (Cambridge) New Testament Study groups. Aaron and his wife Sarah have five children and a German Shepherd. As a family, the Whites enjoy hiking, swimming, sailing, home projects, watching Ohio State Buckeye football and engaging in community events.
