Blessing Hospital has earned two national recognitions from the American Heart Association for commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based stroke care.
Blessing has received the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Award with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designation, as well as the Get With The Guidelines Stroke Rural Gold Award.
The Stroke Gold Plus Award recognizes hospitals that consistently follow the latest evidence-based treatment guidelines to improve outcomes for stroke patients. The additional Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designation highlights Blessing’s efforts to ensure stroke patients with Type 2 diabetes receive specialized care designed to reduce their risk of future health complications.
Blessing was also recognized with the Rural Gold Award, honoring hospitals that demonstrate excellence in early treatment of stroke patients in rural communities. The American Heart Association notes that people living in rural areas face a higher risk of stroke-related death, making access to timely, specialized care crucial.
The Rural Gold designation recognizes hospitals for performance in key areas of stroke care, including emergency evaluation, brain imaging, coordination with emergency medical services, stroke assessment, specialist consultation, and timely treatment or transfer when needed.
The American Heart Association says hospitals receiving these recognitions demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering timely, guideline-based care that improves survival and recovery for stroke patients.
