Chaka Jordan, MHA, vice president, Marketing & Planning, Blessing Health System, has been named one of the “Top Women in PR” by PRNEWS. She received the award at a luncheon in New York City on January 28, 2020.
Winners were judged based on their campaign objectives, successes and return on investment over the last year, as well as their overall influence within their organization and public relations profession at large.
PRNEWS assists public relations and marketing professionals with developing their skills in all aspects of the fields through its newsletter, webinars, conferences, awards programs, workshops and guidebooks.
PRNEWS described Jordan as an, “ambitious, analytical and personable trailblazer,” and as the first woman and first African American to hold the Vice President of Marketing and Planning position at Blessing Health System.
PRNEWS honored Jordan for her leadership in the success of Blessing Health System’s “Know Where to Go” campaign. The campaign educates consumers about what conditions that require emergency care and where to go for treatment of non-life threating conditions, which has decreased non-emergent care in Blessing’s emergency department and increased use of Blessing’s retail clinics.
Jordan holds a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is Green Belt certified in Six Sigma.
She came to Blessing from UNC Healthcare, Chapel Hill, NC. She previously held leadership positions at Health Management Associates, Mercy Health System, Wake Forest Baptist Health as well as Premier, Inc. She currently serves on both the United Way of Adams County and Chaddock board of directors.
