Blessing Physician Services (BPS) will bring new life to a vacant building on the grounds of the Quincy Mall and increase the convenience of receiving healthcare at the same time. A drive-through healthcare service called Blessing Express Clinic is scheduled to open on January 4 in the building that housed Sears automotive services.
Beginning January 4, the Blessing Express Clinic will see patients for upper respiratory issues and COVID-19 testing, replacing the Flu-Like Illness Screening Center that has operated since March from 2808 Chestnut in Quincy. In early February, care for minor acute illnesses will be added at the Blessing Express Clinic.
Blessing Express Clinic will feature four drive-through lanes and three traditional examination rooms for care that cannot be delivered in a drive-through setting, or for the care of those who arrive at the clinic by public transportation, bicycle or on foot. The clinic will be open 8 am-to-8 pm Monday-Friday, and 8 am-to-5 pm o Saturdays and Sunday.
“The idea for Blessing Express Clinic came from the wonderful feedback we received from people who used the Blessing Health System Flu-Like Illness Screening Center at 2808 Chestnut to receive a COVID-19 test over the past nine months,” said Scott Koelliker, executive vice president, Blessing Physician Services. “People told us they greatly appreciated the convenience of not having to get out of their car to see a healthcare provider, especially when they were not feeling well. It also made them feel safer during the pandemic.”
“Based on that feedback, we saw a need to expand our drive-through services, but needed a more suitable building in a more convenient location. The former Sears auto service building fit our plan perfectly,” Koelliker concluded.
“Blessing Express Clinic is an example of Blessing leaders listening to the voice of its customers and responding by delivering care in new, more convenient ways,” said Maureen Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, president/chief executive officer, Blessing Health System and Blessing Hospital. “Being on the cutting-edge of care isn’t always about high-tech. It can be high-touch, too, as Blessing Express Clinic will be in responding to consumer needs.”
