Blessing Health System and the owner of Lin’s Garden Buffet restaurant at 12th and Broadway have reached agreement for purchase of the property, effective February 4, 2020.
While a final decision on the property’s use has not been made, the purchase has been a part of Blessing’s strategic plan for more than five years.
“Blessing has been a part of Quincy’s northwest side for nearly 150 years and plans to be here for many more years,” said Patrick Gerveler, Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, Blessing Health System.
“As part of our commitment to expanding convenient access to care and offering services that allow area residents to get the healthcare they need without having to leave the area, we have identified key properties in the neighborhood that would be vital to future growth of healthcare services,” Gerveler continued. “When and if those properties become available, we make an offer to purchase them. The property at 12th and Broadway is one of those properties that has been on our strategic plan for several years and recently became available. So we acted according to our plan.”
