Board certified medical oncologist Osvaldo Wesly, MD, will begin treating cancer patients at Illini Community Hospital on August 1, providing care with Sherrie White, APRN-AGNP, nurse practitioner. 
Dr. Wesly is a member of the Blessing Cancer Center provider team.


Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Oncology, Dr. Wesly completed three cancer-related fellowships in Hematology/Oncology, Tumor Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplant. He also completed an internship and residency at New York Medical College in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  


Before joining Blessing Health System, Dr. Wesly was a member of the Springfield, Illinois, Clinic and Medical Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.


“Dr. Wesly brings extensive experience in cancer care to Illini patients,” said Kathy Hull, president/chief executive officer, Illini Community Hospital. “His role on the Blessing Cancer Center provider team also gives Illini patients access to the insight of his fellow cancer providers as they meet on a weekly basis to track the progress of each patient’s treatment plan.”


In addition to medical oncology care, Illini provides cancer patients with chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments, and laboratory testing.
