Delaney Carroll, certified nurse assistant, Progressive Care Unit, earned Blessing Hospital’s 59th Honey Bee award during a surprise presentation on September 13, 2023. The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the exceptional service provided by support staff.
Delaney was nominated for her actions when noticing a significant change in a patient’s condition. Her nomination for the award said, in part:
“She alerted the charge nurse and communicated the need for a nurse to see the patient immediately. This patient ended up needing an emergent procedure and higher level of care. Delaney’s actions made sure all the appropriate peopled were contacted in a timely manner,” said one person involved in the patient’s care.
Another wrote in the nomination, “Delaney kept the patient calm when their airway was closing. Without Delaney’s patient-centered care, the patient would have grown anxious and lost their airway”
And a doctor involved in the care stated, “I was thoroughly impressed by the compassionate care Delaney was able to provide the patient when they needed it the most.”
Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units and other locations throughout Blessing Hospital.
