Clarence Braxton, Environmental Services, earned Blessing Hospital’s 66th Honey Bee award during a surprise presentation on March 20. The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the exceptional service provided by support staff.

Clarence was nominated by a hospital department leader after they had rounded with a patient, and the patient shared this story: “The housekeeper, Clarence, was so nice and helpful. He asked me how I was doing, and I shared I was going to have to have chemo. He asked me if I was going to wear a wig. I told him I didn’t know what is available. He then pulled out his do-rag from his wallet and showed me how to wear it. I asked him where do you find these? He replied you can find all colors at Sally Beauty Supply or on Amazon.”

The leader added, “The fact that Clarence took the extra steps to ask this patient how they were, and then went above and beyond to share his knowledge of do-rags, really touched this patient and me. Clarence is routinely mentioned in leader rounding for his kindness. Thank you, Clarence!”
Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units at Blessing Hospital.
