To increase options available to pregnant women in the region to access care in the ways they wish, Blessing Health is hosting a free International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) Professional Birth Doula Workshop.
It will take place on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 at the Blessing Business Center, 4919 Oak Street, Quincy.
Certified birth doulas are trained to attend and support the physical, emotional, informational and social needs of women in labor. In addition, they offer new parents advocacy, guidance and referrals to community resources. These resources are varied, including but not limited to self-care, lactation, and parenting support.
The workshop runs from 9 am-6 pm both days, with lunch provided, and is open to anyone age 18 and older. Healthcare experience is not required.
This program is limited 10 participants. Course participants will be selected from among those completing and submitting an interest form. Filling out the interest form does not guarantee participation in the program. Go to blessinghealth.org/birthdoulaworkshop to complete the interest form.
