Computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at the Blessing Health Center 4800 Maine in Quincy have been awarded three-year terms of accreditation after a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The ACR gold seal accompanies the accreditations, representing the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.

With the accreditations, the imaging services at Blessing Health Center 4800 Maine are recognized by regulators as separate from those offered by Blessing Hospital, allowing the health system to offer the outpatient services at a lower cost and, at the same time, demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality.

“As health care consumers today face the responsibility of paying a larger portion of their health care costs than ever before, they demand the best value,” said Maureen Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, president/chief executive officer, Blessing Health System and Blessing Hospital.

“Value is the combination of high quality and competitive pricing. As a result of these new accreditations, Blessing is able to deliver a new level of value for the outpatient imaging to the communities we serve,” she concluded.

The difference in cost for Blessing’s outpatient imaging services is dependent on the type of insurance a patient carries.
