Jeg Gonzalez’s support of a new coworker led to hm receiving the ICARE Award for Excellence.
Blessing Health employees nominate their peers for ICARE awards based on their demonstration of any one – or all – of the Blessing Values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Jeg is a medical laboratory scientist and was nominated by Laboratory Services Director Michelle Combs. The nomination read, in part:
“Jeg’s exceptional story began when we recruited a new hire from Kenya to work in the lab. Jeg, also recently coming to the United States, was able to relate and communicate with this new employee and help him navigate the trip here.
Once our new hire was here, Jeg went out of his way to make sure he felt welcome and helped with anything he needed for adapting to a different country/city/lifestyle. Jeg and his wife spent time making meals and taking our new hire to the grocery store to help stock up his apartment with food and supplies, all with their own money.
Jeg took time during his days off to make sure our new hire had rides to places he needed to go and assistance navigating the United States immigration policies in order to start work.
Jeg did all of this on his personal time away from work to make sure a new employee would have an easier start on this new journey. He showed exceptional kindness to someone he didn't know simply because they would be part of our team.”
