Sheila Williamson, LPN, Payor/Placement Specialist, Patient Access department, Blessing Hospital, retires January 11 after 44 years of service.
Williamson graduated from the former Carl Sandburg College, Carthage, Illinois. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Carthage after graduation before joining Blessing Hospital in 1980.
During the course of her Blessing career Williamson was a physical therapy tech, a nurse on two patient floors and a payor/placement specialist, the position from which she will retire.
Williamson earned the Quincy Area Nurse Excellence Award in 2006.
“I had the privilege of taking care of patients, for some on their worst days, and seeing them recover from illness and injury and able to return home,” she said.
Williamson and her husband, Daniel, have two sons and five grandchildren.
