John Stark, project/construction specialist, Maintenance department, earned the 72nd Honey Bee award during a presentation on September 24. The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the exceptional service provided by support staff.

John was nominated by a Cardiac Rehabilitation patient. Cardiac Rehabilitation is located in the Blessing Health Center 927 Broadway. The patient arrived for his cardiac rehab session, but had not had breakfast, and the snack shop in the health center was closed that day.

The nomination read, in part:
“John was in the hallway with a ladder and I asked him if there was another place where food was served in this building. He said no, but vending machines were on the 1st floor where he proceeded to take me. I bought a package of donuts and asked about coffee and he said the best chance would be an office. I saw a door marked Medicine Clinic and asked the lady there and she gave me coffee.

I went back to the second floor and sat in the chairs near Cardiac Rehab. John appeared with a coffee and a bottle of water. He also had the nurse with him as she had come to find me.

Mr. Stark went way beyond what I would expect for some food and drink. I wish to thank him and let him know how much I appreciated it.”
Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units at Blessing Hospital.
