Tina Womack, RN, lactation nurse, Blessed Beginnings

Tina Womack, RN, lactation nurse, Blessed Beginnings, became Blessing Hospital’s 106th DAISY award winner during a ceremony on March 24, 2025, for her extraordinary nursing care.

Tina was nominated by two patients to whom she provided lactation education after their challenging birthing situations. The first mother had twins who were born early.

Her nomination read in part:
“When we got home from the NICU and went to the breastfeeding support group for the first time, Tina was a very warm and welcoming voice and made us feel right at home. She continues to put our minds at ease on a daily basis. Tina goes above and beyond checking in on the mothers and babies outside of group. She is constantly checking in even when she is on vacation.

On countless occasions Tina has reached out to doctors on our behalf so we could avoid extra office visits or to clear up information. Her complete devotion to her work is appreciated by many mothers.

Tina is an amazing woman and my saving grace.”

The second mother who nominated Tina had a son born with breathing difficulties. Her nomination read, in part:
“I had to wait to meet my son due to his health circumstances. When I got to hold him for the first time, Tina came to my side to teach and guide me how to breastfeed my son. Her job was to teach me the skills and support my lactation goals- but she did much more. Tina provided so much emotional support, she stopped and sat with me in my fear and pain seeing my son in the condition he was in. Tina took the hardest day of my life and helped my family survive.

You can truly feel Tina is passionate about this role she plays for people. Tina, thank you so much for everything you did for our family. I have a baby boy in my arms today and you play a huge role in that! We will never forget your care and your kindness.”
