Sherri is a medication reconciliation tech, assisting nursing staff with completing patients’ home medication documentation.  She was nominated for the award by a Blessing nurse for the dignity and respect with which she treats patients, and her commitment to accuracy. The nomination read in part:

“Most recently, as Sheri completed a medication reconciliation with a patient, her accuracy uncovered a discrepancy. The dose of a medication was increased one month earlier by the patient’s cardiologist, and the patient wasn’t aware of the change. The patient has a history of strokes, came to the ER with stroke-like symptoms and was hypertensive. Due to Sheri’s good catch we were able to get the patient the accurately-dosed medication and control her blood pressure. The patient went home the next day.”

“I want Sheri to know nursing staff acknowledge her presence and admire her commitment to our patients,” the nomination concluded.

Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units and other locations throughout Blessing Hospital.
