Jessica Ingram, unit secretary, Rehabilitation Services, received the hospital’s 36th Honey Bee award during a presentation on October 21.

The Blessing Hospital Honey Bee award recognizes the service provided by support staff.

A patient from the Macomb area was in need of her second Pfizer COVID vaccine after her discharge from the hospital. Jessica began making phone calls to locations in Macomb to see if they had the Pfizer vaccine and appointments available. Following is an excerpt from the nomination submitted about Jessica:

“If it were not for these calls, the patient would have assumed she could get the vaccine in Macomb. But we learned no Pfizer vaccines were available. The patient was post-COVID and very thankful to get her vaccine at Blessing before discharge.”

“Throughout the pandemic Jessica has updated immunization records, sent vaccine papers to physician offices and put second vaccines in as follow-up appointments for many patients,” the nomination concluded.

Honey Bee award nomination forms are located on all nursing units and other locations throughout Blessing Hospital.
