Bradley Beswick, RN, Rehabilitation Services, became the 78th Blessing Hospital nurse to receive the international DAISY Award during a ceremony on November 17, 2022.

Bradley was nominated by a patient for whom he was caring after an accident.

“I had so much pain I didn’t want to live. Brad told me what I needed to do to ease the pain. He talked to me about what a great family I had and that I should fight to live so I could be with them longer.

Every time something new was introduced to me Brad would explain why and tell me what I needed to do to get full benefit. He is very knowledgeable nurse and contributes to the well-being of his patients.

I had great care while at Blessing. Brad, thank you for all you did for me. I feel like you truly made me want to live and that you helped me so much.”

DAISY stands for “Diseases Attacking the Immune System.” The family of a 33-year-old man, who died of an immune system disorder, began the program in 1999 to honor his memory by recognizing extraordinary nurses everywhere who make a difference in the lives of people by the work they do every day. More than 4,800 healthcare providers worldwide participate in the DAISY Award program.

DAISY award nomination forms are located on all nursing units throughout Blessing Health System and on the internet at blessinghealth.org/recognize.
