The number of public entrances to Blessing Hospital will be reduced effective Tuesday morning, July 17, to enhance building security.
Below are the doors that will be for public access:
- 11th and Spring Street main entrances (including Hospital, Cancer Center and Blessing-Rieman entrances)
- North Entrance at Moorman Pavilion
- Emergency Center
- Walk-In Clinic
- Human Resources and DaVita Dialysis entrances from 10th Street
All other entrances to the hospital building will be employee badge access only doors.
Hospital officials do not expect the security enhancement to be a burden on the public, since the majority of outpatients and visitors use the entrances that remain available to the public.
In cases of emergency, limiting points of unlocked building access allows Blessing security staff to operate more efficiently and effectively.
In order for the security enhance to be effective, employees cannot let members of the public into the hospital through employee badge access doors.
After 8:30 pm seven days a week, the Emergency Center entrance will continue to serve as the public entrance until the following morning.
