Experience the Blessing Difference: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Our talented surgeons and their teams provide expert, compassionate care to treat jaw and facial injuries and conditions. At Blessing, you can expect:
-
Advanced diagnostic technology: Our specialists use advanced imaging technologies, including X-ray, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resolution imaging (MRI), for accurate imaging and analysis. We use these detailed images to diagnose injuries or disorders affecting facial and jaw bones or soft tissue. Our surgeons will assess the images and decide on the best treatment plan for you.
-
Teamwork across specialties: Doctors across different specialties often work together to resolve injuries or conditions affecting the face or jaw. Neurosurgeons, ear, nose and throat surgeons, general surgeons, plastic surgeons and dentists bring diverse experience in treating facial injuries. At Blessing, we foster a collaborative atmosphere where specialists work together for your personalized care.
-
Patient safety: We do everything we can to make your surgery safe and your recovery as quick and painless as possible. That’s why we are a proud member of the American College of Surgeons’ National Surgical Quality Improvement Program® (ACS NSQIP) and the Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC). These programs analyze our surgical data to ensure that we continue to provide the best surgical care possible.
Conditions We Treat
Our experienced team can reset broken bones, treat soft tissue injuries and nerve damage and restore your appearance. Some injuries and conditions we treat include:
-
Facial trauma: Our surgeons quickly assess, diagnose and treat serious jaw and facial injuries affecting bones, muscles and other soft tissues. Our plastic surgeons work with our trauma surgeons to perform reconstructive surgery, as needed, to restore facial appearance.
-
Broken jaw: Our surgeons use advanced imaging technologies to align the jaw and bite profile. Proper jaw alignment can prevent damage to teeth.
-
Broken nose: Our specialists work carefully to realign the nose to prevent breathing problems and improve appearance.
-
Facial tumor: We can assess, diagnose and, if needed, surgically remove facial tumors. We usually take a biopsy (tiny tissue sample) of abnormal tissue to test for cancer or other conditions. If the sample contains cancer cells, our surgeons work with the medical oncology and radiation oncology specialists to develop a treatment plan for you.
