Medicaid Changes For 2027
Starting January 1, 2027, some Affordable Care Act (ACA) adults may need to me new federal requirements to keep their Medicaid coverage.

Do these changes apply you?
What's changing?
You may need to complete at least 80 hours a month of qualifying activities. You can combine these activities to complete the 80-hour requirement.
- At least 80 hours of work, community service, or a work program participation.
- Education enrollment (at least half time)
- Income of at least $580/month. (For seasonal workers, a $580/month income over six months.)
- Renew your Medicaid coverage every six months instead of every 12 months.
Who is affected?
These changes apply to adults who:
- Are ages 19-64.
- Have received Medicaid through the ACA Adult Program.
- Are not pregnant or postpartum.
- Do not receive Medicare.
- Do not have a child age 18 or younger living at home.
