After a cancer diagnosis, one of the first doctors you meet will be a medical oncologist. Medical Oncologists specialize in managing drug treatments for people with early and advanced cancers. Our medical oncology team includes board-certified physicians, advanced practice providers, certified nurses, and an experienced support staff that cares for you as a whole person.

Individualized Treatment 

Medical Oncologists work with our multi-disciplinary team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, specialized caregivers, and your primary care provider to develop an individualized treatment plan for you.

Our providers see patients in Quincy at the Blessing Cancer Center and in Pittsfield, Illinois at the Casteel Center in Illini Community Hospital

Infusion Center

Treatments and medications are administered at the Blessing Infusion Center in the Blessing Cancer Center or the Casteel Center at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. 

Medical Oncology Unit

If at any point in your treatment, you require inpatient care, you will be admitted to the Blessing Hospital oncology unit on 3 North. Here, your medical oncologist and an oncology clinical nurse specialist, with a team of certified oncology registered nurses, will oversee your care.

Clinical Research

The Blessing Clinical Research Department offers different types of interventional clinical trials including medication, devices, psychotherapy, new approaches to radiation therapy, surgery or a combination of these mentioned, Diagnostic, Prevention, Quality of Living, Screening, and Genetic studies.
