Blessing’s Maternity Care Team

The highly trained and compassionate maternity specialists work together to ensure you and your baby are in safe, skilled hands while you are in our care. Your care team includes:

Obstetricians and family medicine providers: Several obstetrician-gynecologists and family medicine doctors deliver babies at Blessing. These dedicated professionals take excellent care of expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process. Blessing's OB/GYN Hospitalist Team also provides on-site emergency care, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Pediatricians: We work with many of the area’s excellent pediatricians. Once your baby arrives, we notify your selected pediatrician to come check on your newborn here in the hospital. Should you deliver before deciding on a care provider, our on-call pediatrician will take excellent care of your baby. You can then choose to stay with that pediatrician or choose another doctor to continue your baby’s care. We will make sure that any doctor you choose receives all of your baby’s medical information from Blessing Hospital.
Nurses: We assign 2 registered nurses to every delivery: 1 to take care of mom and 1 to take care of the baby. Many of our nurses received additional training in labor and delivery or low-risk neonatal nursing, so you can be confident that we will take excellent care of you and your baby. Several members of our nursing team gained national recognition with a DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses for their exceptional nursing care. Nominated by patients, these awards highlight how privileged our team feels to care for new mothers during this special time in their lives.
Lactation consultant: Our maternity care team includes a full-time lactation consultant who wholeheartedly supports moms’ breastfeeding journey. Our lactation consultant checks on new moms daily to offer support and answer questions. We help moms achieve their personal breastfeeding goals. Learn more about our breastfeeding support.
Anesthesiologists: We work with expert anesthesiology specialists who offer epidural and other anesthesia services to keep moms safe and comfortable during labor and delivery.
