Experience the Blessing Difference: Medically-Monitored Weight Loss
Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight does not have to be an individual struggle. At the Blessing Bariatric Institute, our comprehensive team of experts helps you improve your overall health by reaching a sustained, healthy weight.
Obesity is linked to sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, and decreased mobility among other adverse health conditions. Utilizing dietary instructions, physical exercise, behavior modification, and occasionally medication, we create an individualized plan to manage and often eliminate chronic issues.
Team Approach
The most successful individual and provider relationships are truly a team approach. At Blessing, we work with you establish goals to improve your health. Our team is with you every step of the way. Your plan is individualized to you and will be monitored continuously and adjusted as needed to ensure success.
Led by Medical Director Dr. Abby Reich, board certified in obesity medicine, the multidisciplinary team includes:
- Registered Dietitian
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Nurses
- Nurse Practitioner
When necessary and appropriate, the team can introduce patients to the Bariatric Institute's Dr. Erik Meidl.
What to Expect
Patients of our program can expect to be treated with respect first and foremost. We understand the importance of partnership, dignity and we care for you as a whole person.
As part of getting to know your journey up to this point, we start with a thorough history and physical exam.
Though no two plans are the same, our team will focus on behavioral factors and modifications, physical activity, and increase knowledge of nutrition. Sometimes we also have to combat biology, in which case medication and/or surgical weight loss is available.
