Donate Life - Hannah Lotz' Story
I’ve been a registered donor since I first received my driver’s license. I made sure my family knew my wishes and even though my parents didn’t agree with my view, they agreed. Thankfully, they were never put in a position to have to make that choice. However, as time has passed I have managed to convince them it is the right thing to do and they are now registered donors as well. Several years ago, a cousin committed suicide and his mother gave his organs to several young people who desperately needed them. She has received thank you notes and such gratitude from those families and it gives her comfort to know that her son lives on in others, that even though he is not here with her he gave others a gift of life. There are only a few things in my life that I feel strongly about, but organ donation is one of them. Too many people are clinging to the hope of donation for me to be selfish and waste what someone else can use.
